We created this site as a resource. Imagine visiting a new city and being able to locate and support Black-owned businesses. Imagine a place where you can broadcast your business or event to the people who are truly interested. That is The Small Black Business Directory.[/expand]

[expand title=”Do I have to create an account to browse the directory?”]No, you do not have to create an account to browse the listings. However, please note, an account is needed to rate or review business listings or to send a message to a listing owner.[/expand]


 

[expand title=”Does it cost anything for me to create an account?”]No, it does not cost anything to simply create an account. You will only be charged if you become a member business by listing a business in the directory.[/expand]


 

[expand title=”Is there a charge to list an event on The Small Black Business Directory?”]No, there is no charge to list an event.[/expand]


 

[expand title=”Can I advertise on The Small Black Business Directory?”]At this time, we do not offer any advertising space.[/expand]

[expand title=”Why should I become a member of The Small Black Business Directory?”]When you become a member of The Small Black Business Directory, you become a part of an elite subset of our community. The SBBD is focused on creating innovate spaces for budding and established entrepreneurs. Becoming a member allows you to use our resources to build your business and network. In addition to honing your entrepreneurial skills, you will also be able to take advantage of a unique marketing and promotion opportunity. When you add your business to our directory, you are essentially putting your business in front of thousands of individuals who seek to support businesses just like yours. [expand title=”What types of businesses are listed in The Small Black Business Directory?”]We currently have over 100 categories listed on The SBBD. Whether you have a consulting firm, a hair salon, a daycare, write a fashion blog or sell products online, there’s a place for your business on The Small Black Business Directory.[/expand]


 

[expand title=”Are all of the businesses listed in The Small Black Business Directory Black-owned?”]Yes, we make every effort to verify that all business who list are at least 51% Black-owned. If you encounter a business in the directory that is not Black-owned, please contact us.[/expand]


 

[expand title=”What will prevent my business from being listed?”]The Small Black Business Directory is a resource for Black-owned businesses. If your business is not Black-owned, please do not submit a listing, as we will not approve it. When submitting your business information, please complete as many fields as possible on the submission form. Be sure to read any instructions on the form and follow them. We want to make sure yours is a legitimate business and providing as much information as possible about your business is the best way to do this. We accept businesses from every industry, however, we will not approve any listing for adult-themed or pornographic services or any other listing we feel can be deemed offensive. We reserve the right to decline any listing request.[/expand]


 

[expand title=”How can I submit my business to be included in the directory and become a member?”]To become a member of The SBBD, first decide which membership level you would like to purchase by reviewing our Membership Information page. Once you decide which level is best for your business, you will be directed to our Submit A Listing page where you will be able to add your information.[/expand]


 

[expand title=”Is there a charge to list my business?”]To become a member of The Small Black Business Directory there is a yearly membership cost. Please visit our Membership Information page for more info.[/expand]


 

[expand title=”How long will my listing be active?”]Your listing will be active for 1 year. During the submission process, you can elect to automatically renew your listing. You will receive an email reminding you that your listing will be renewed and the date the renewal will take place. If you do not decide to auto renew, you will receive an email approximately 2 weeks before your listing expires advising you to renew your listing and membership.[/expand]


 

[expand title=”How do I change my membership level?”]When you renew your listing, you can change your membership level at that time. If you would like to upgrade your membership level prior to renewing your listing, please contact us. We will send you an invoice of the prorated amount due to change the membership level with information on how make your payment. Please note, at this time, you cannot downgrade your membership prior to renewing. We apologize for the inconvenience.[/expand]


 

[expand title=”I no longer wish to be a member of The Small Black Business Directory. How do I remove my listing and receive a refund?”]We’re certainly sorry that you no longer want to remain a member of our community and would welcome your feedback as to why you want to end your relationship with us. As it stands now, we are unable to process any refunds for membership fees. However, if you would like your business removed from the directory, you can log into your account and delete your listing. Please note, you will not receive a refund for any remaining months in your subscription.[/expand]


 

[expand title=”How do I make changes to my listing?”]If you need to update your information in your listing, please visit the Manage My Listings page to log into your account and make the necessary changes.[/expand]


 

[expand title=”How are the businesses listed in the directory?”]Businesses are listed alphabetically by default. You can sort the listings by ratings or the date the business was added to the directory.[/expand]


 

[expand title=”How long will it take for my business to show in the directory after I have submitted all of my information?”]Once we receive your business information, it can take up to 48 hours for your listing to appear in the directory. You will receive an email once your listing is approved.[/expand]


 

[expand title=”I had a good experience with a business I found in The SBBD. Who should I contact?”]We are happy to hear you enjoyed doing business with one of our member businesses. We would recommend leaving a rating and a review on that business’ listing in our directory to let other users know you had a great experience. A representative from that business will receive notification that you have reviewed their business.[/expand]


 

[expand title=”I had a bad experience with a business I found in The SBBD. Who should I contact?”]We are sorry to hear that you had a less than stellar experience with one of our member businesses. We would recommend contacting that business directly through the contact form in their listing to inform them of your experience. If you are still having problems with the company, please contact us.[/expand]
